Nina is a sought-after technician and practises extensively in cosmetic tattooing and microblading; improving skin condition with dermal needling therapy; and providing general beauty and makeup services.

Glowtique is the culmination of Nina’s many years of intensive training and the dream of enhancing people’s confidence and joy by creating beautiful, personal transformations.

For the past ten years Nina has worked in the beauty industry and undergone continuous professional development to keep informed of the latest tools and techniques. She is fully qualified, licensed and is a strong advocate for industry safety and infection control.

In her earlier years Nina underwent many difficult life challenges. 

Nina started her career with the Queensland Government in education and enjoyed being able to contribute to effective outcomes in teaching and learning. 

Her life took a sharp turn in 2010 when her husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Although they together took on this disease with a courageous spirit, determination and hope, the family unfortunately lost Hung Chu, leaving young Nina behind with their three beautiful children. 

Such an experience had a deep shock on Nina’s life. She had to swiftly become creative, resourceful and strongly-organised in order to both provide for her family, and be a supportive, available mother. She also became highly compassionate, grateful and attuned to the things that matter most in life. 

Through her own experience Nina understood how devastating life events can impact happiness, confidence and self-care. It’s because of this that she wanted to redirect her life into creating more joy and positivity for others.

Her inherent artistic skills and love of nature and beauty, made her a pure fit for the aesthetic world. To further her interest she extended herself to learn all that she could about the industry, studying with the Makeup Academy Institute of Applied Science; French Beauty Academy; Phi Academy; College of Dermal Therapies; and Master training in Paramedical Areola Techniques for Mastectomies. 

Her interests quickly grew beyond simply applying makeup, into the deep study of facial structures, skin tones and the psychology of aesthetics. This knowledge sets Nina apart in being able to customise successful solutions for people of all shapes, sizes, ages and colours.

When Nina learned how semi-permanent makeup and reconstructive technologies were being used for cancer patients, as well as motor skill and age related problems, she knew immediately that she could make a positive difference helping to restore spirit, outlook and women’s love for themselves and life.

Soon, Nina will be running a cancer recovery support program where she will give her personal time and skill to provide dignity restoring cosmetic tattoos for women affected by breast cancer.

Nina’s warm, gentle nature; ethos of care for humanity; and making the world a better place, motivates her drive to create genuine, glowing renewal for others.

Metaphorically Nina likens this to a graceful butterfly emerging from a chrysalis. In the same way Glowtique has been created to facilitate confident transformation and give happiness to its community.

Nina recently worked on makeup for the beautiful ladies at Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival.
