Caring for your treatment afterwards

The outcome of your skin treatment is finalized by your commitment to post-procedure recovery. To maximize your results and lock in your new radiance, you must strictly apply special care after treatment.

Best Practice for Best Results

The Glowtique guide to caring for your skin post-treatment:

Please carefully study the following tips to care for your skin after treatment. Not doing so may hinder your final results or cause unwanted pigment changes.

Traditional heavy chemical peels result in weeks of painful downtime, and extreme skin shedding. However, Glowtique's advanced professional peeling range from Dermaceutic Laboratoire significantly minimises aggressive social downtime while maximizing cellular renewal deep within the dermis.

Our specialized selection of superficial to medium-depth medical peels ensures an optimized epidermal shedding process that works in total harmony with your skin's natural healing cycle.

Depending on the specific formula chosen for your skin type—whether it's the radiant-boosting Milk Peel, the clarifying Crystal Peel, the pore-purifying Cosmo Peel, or the high-strength depigmenting Mela Peel Forte—redness and skin tightness are expertly controlled using Dermaceutic's clinical recovery topicals.

After Care for Peels: What to Expect

Immediately After (In-Clinic to 2 Hours)

Your skin will feel warm, tight, and may look flush or pinkish. For the Mela Peel Forte, you will leave the clinic with the active peel product on your skin for 8-10 hours; your clinician will tell you exactly what time to wash it off at home.

Day 1 (The First 24 Hours)

Your skin will begin to feel dry, warm, and look slightly shiny. It is highly reactive right now. Keep the skin calm by applying only gentle cleansing and moisturizer.

Day 2–5 (The Renewal Phase)

This is when superficial flaking or mild peeling typically begins, particularly around the mouth, nose, and chin. The Milk, Crystal, and Cosmo Peels usually show light, powdery flaking, while the Mela Peel Forte can produce more noticeable, sheet-like peeling. Your skin may feel temporarily itchy or sensitive. Very important to use sunscreen and keep your skin well-hydrated.

Day 5–7 (The Glow Phase)

The old epidermis has completely shed away to reveal a softer, significantly brighter, and more even complexion. Any residual dry patches will settle completely. You can now transition back into your normal routine as instructed by your clinician.

After Care Routine

  • Avoid touching, picking, or peeling the treated area. Forcing skin to flake off before it is biologically ready causes raw micro-tears, which leads to permanent scarring or Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH).
  • Do wash your face very gently. Lightly pat dry with a clean towel.
  • Keep the skin deeply hydrated and protected. Apply your moisturiser multiple times a day whenever the skin feels tight, dry, or itchy.
  • Abstain from all active skincare. Strictly avoid chemical exfoliants, mechanical scrubs, facial waxing, or threading for at least 7 days post-treatment.

General After Care & Restrictions

  • Wear a broad-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and liberally apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every 2 hours, even on cloudy days.
  • Do minimise intense heat and moisture exposure. Avoid heavy workouts, hot yoga, saunas, steam rooms, and long, boiling showers for 48 to 72 hours.
  • Avoid swimming. Stay out of chlorinated pools, saltwater, or spas for at least 5 days to prevent chemical irritation and bacterial infections on an uncompromised barrier.
  • Pause your homecare active treatments. Do not use any products containing Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Retinol, Tretinoin, or vitamin C for 5 to 7 days, until the skin barrier is completely rebuilt.
  • Do schedule your follow-up. Ensure you attend your scheduled check-in or next maintenance peeling treatment (typically spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, depending on your custom protocol) to maintain cellular momentum.
