Essential Instructions
Strict Sun Protection (Critical for 4 Weeks):
- This is the most important step to protect your newly treated skin.
- Wear a high-quality, broad-spectrum SPF 30+ (or higher) daily and reapply often.
- Wear a hat and limit time outdoors, especially during peak sun hours.
Soothing and Moisturising
- Apply a cool compress or ice pack wrapped in a clean cloth to the treated area as needed to reduce any heat, redness, or swelling.
- Keep your skin well-hydrated with a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturiser. This helps with healing and reduces dryness.
Gentle Hygiene (First 48 Hours)
- Use a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and lukewarm water.
- Pat the skin dry — do not rub.
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, and strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours as excessive heat/sweat can irritate the skin.
Skincare Restrictions (1 Week)
- Do not resume your active skincare ingredients (Retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, exfoliants) until your skin has fully recovered and any redness or tightness is gone (typically 5–7 days).
- Avoid makeup for 24 hours if possible. When you do wear it, be gentle with removal.
Maintain Your Active Skincare
Incorporate an Antioxidant Serum (like a gentle Vitamin C or E) in the mornings under your sunscreen to provide an extra layer of environmental and free-radical protection.
- After your healing window of 7 days, gradually re-introduce your normal everyday skin care routine.
The Lifestyle Commitment
Stay Cool: Treat heat as an enemy. When exercising or spending time outdoors, be vigilant about cooling your face with cold water or a facial mist.
